Water Supply and Demand
The Desalination Plant will produce 10,500 AFY of new water supply. The table below compares the annual demands and supplies for CAW and for the former Fort Ord.

The water supplies shown in the table above include CAW’s legal rights to the Carmel River and Seaside wells and also include three projects that have already been approved and are being implemented by the applicable local agencies; specifically, this includes Sand City Desalination, RUWAP, and two of the ASR wells. These previously analyzed water supply projects will be undertaken whether or not the Regional Desalination Project is approved and implemented.
