The mission of the Marina Coast Water District (the “District”) is to “provide our customers with high quality water, wastewater collection and conservation services at a reasonable cost, through planning, management and the development of water resources in an environmentally sensitive manner.” The District serves approximately 38,000 residents through 8,500 connections in its Marina and Fort Ord (Ord Community) service areas. It serves a diverse community of cultures and industries including education, the military and commercial agriculture
MCWD is looking to fill the position of System Operator at either the Grade I or Grade II level depending upon qualifications and certifications. A sample of some of the duties include:
- Inspect underground wastewater collection mains and associated appurtenances using closed-circuit television
equipment to locate leaks, breaks, infiltration and the buildup of debris, roots and other materials on a scheduled
preventive maintenance basis;
- Inspect underground water pipes;
- Learn and perform chlorination of the water distribution system and the maintenance of chlorination equipment;
- Possess knowledge of principles, practices, tools equipment and supplies required to maintain and repair water
treatment and distribution infrastructure, wastewater collection mains, and lift stations.
