Marina Coast Water District is committed to preventing water loss and waste in our community. You can help by reporting any water emergencies or waste you observe. Reports can be submitted anonymously and are kept confidential.
Water Emergencies
Water emergencies involve significant damage, such as from a ruptured water main, a broken service lateral, or a damaged fire hydrant. Common signs include:
- Gushing or spraying water from a pipe or hydrant
- Large unexplained wet spots on the streets or sidewalks
To report water emergencies, please call the District immediately at (831) 384-6131 or (831) 883-5900. After business hours, you will be connected to our on-call phone dispatcher.
Water Waste (non-emergency)
Some examples of non-emergency water waste include:
- Irrigation runoff onto paved surfaces
- Hosing down paved surfaces for reasons other than health or safety
- Watering plants or washing vehicles without a shut-off hose nozzle
- Leaking irrigation systems
To report non-emergency water waste, you can:
- Complete the form on the California Water Boards website at http://savewater.ca.gov/.
- Call (831) 384-6131 during business hours
- Mail a report to 920 2nd Avenue, Suite B, Marina CA 93933-2099.
If you choose to call or mail in the report, please include the following information:
- Location (address and detailed description)
- Date and time of day
- Description of the water waste
- Photo of the waste or leak, if possible
