Construction Notice
January 12, 2022
The Marina Coast Water District (MCWD) is investing in the water infrastructure in your neighborhood.
Specifically, the Intermediate Reservoir (a reddish looking tank to your north), this critical piece of infrastructure will be undergoing refurbishment with new structural components being installed and new coating (paint) on the inside and outside. This will prolong the life of this integral part of the community's water system.
These activities will not impact your water service; however, you will likely hear some construction noise as we work. The most noise will be caused by construction equipment used for sand blasting the reservoir to remove the old coating and prepare the surface for the new coating. This work is currently scheduled to occur from January 14 – 28, 2022.
Additionally, to dry the coating, a dehumidifier unit will have to run overnight. This equipment emits a low hum and will be in service intermittently between January 21- February 11, 2022.
Working hours for the project are typically between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work may go beyond 5:00 p.m. to achieve a practical "end of day" stopping point for certain activities. We also expect occasional weekend work to reduce the duration the Reservoir is out of service and to lessen the overall noise impact.
We greatly appreciate your understanding as we work in your community. If you have any questions or need to contact someone, please contact the Construction Manager, Jonathan Barrera, Psomas (pronounced So-Moss) at (408) 500-1521 or the District's Project Manager, Brian True, at 831-883-5937.
