We are aware that as a result of changing to a new bill-paying system, some customers received two mailings, while others might notice that their billing statements are arriving later than usual. Below, you'll find more details about these issues:
- Late billing: our team is working diligently with the new system to ensure that all billing is correct, which has taken a bit longer than anticipated. Rest assured, no late fees will be assessed during this transition period.
- Duplicate letters were the result of a double set of addresses getting into our data set. Out of 11,000 accounts, 325 received duplicate letters, resulting in an additional postage cost of $225 to the District. We have identified and corrected the issue, and additional safeguards have been implemented to prevent it from happening again.
Please bear with us as we make these adjustments to our new billing system. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that these issues may have caused.

We still accept check payments by mail at 11 Reservation Road.
Pay in Person
We accept checks and cash by mail or in person at 11 Reservation Road.
Effective July 1st, 2024, a credit card convenience fee of 3.25% will be applied for every Visa, Master Card, Discover, or AMEX payment.

What to Do If Your Bill Is Past Due
Payment plans are also available for customers who are having difficulty paying their bill. Please call (831) 384-6131, if you need to set up a payment plan or if you just need a couple of extra days to pay your bill.
The Water Shutoff Protection Act (California Senate Bill 998) requires agencies like MCWD to provide customers with a written collection policy on shutting off water service if bills are not paid after receiving a 48-hour door tag.
